This week I started my internship with Bosu Fitness. The initial listing was for a part-time video editor internship lasting through the end of May. Being unemployed for almost a year now since working for a prominent advertising agency, I was more than willing to take on an opportunity with a great company for the education, experience and the obvious potential to build a long lasting business relationship. I have been a graphic designer professionally for just under 10 years now so after being let go from the agency (for economic reasons, the agency had to close the California office and our entire team got let go) I decided to go back to school to enhance my already powerful skill as a designer. Knowing graphic design just isn’t enough in this day and age so I started a web and multi media certificate program covering many cutting edge programs used in all professional media. This is what led me to Bosu.
Upon first meeting the Bosu team, I was immediately impressed with their products but their attitude, professionalism and philosophy about life and fitness. Obviously most of the first week (only 2 days) was spent getting acquainted with each other and the infrastructure of what I would be spending my time doing which is editing video in Final Cut Pro. After taking the time to figure out the computer system I immediately starting logging and capturing footage for what would end up being a highlight and blooper reel for MMC Fighter Joe Duarte. By the end of the first week I had most of the blooper reel done and the highlight reel well under way.
So the internship is off to a great start and I look forward to working hard and reporting back here at the weekly blog. The best part of working here is you cant help but be inspired by all the great products and attitude of both the staff and costumers who swear by the Bosu brand.
